akp are excited to announce that the extensive refurbishment of Aspect House, Blantyre for our client Scottish Power is now complete.
The overhaul of the 65,000 square foot building, which up until early 2020 housed circa 800 Staff, allows the Scottish Power team an enhanced flexible working environment, more aligned to the commercial spaces seen in most city centre offices today.
This fresh open plan use of space can be attributed to a range of employee and employer benefits, including increases in employee comfort, well-being, and productivity, which ultimately result in better business.
The works incorporated but were not limited to, the full refurbishment of the office block over Basement, Ground, 1st, 2nd & 3rd floors. Replacing roof plant, new services distribution and the overhaul of all lift cars.
The office floors including common areas and restrooms were fully refurbished on a planned floor by floor basis, allowing new services to be installed throughout and creating new offices on all floors.
The ground floor entrance underwent significant alterations to incorporate a bright fresh space with new offices and auditorium created on the ground floor alongside an augmented servery in the onsite canteen.

I want to take the opportunity to thank the akp team. The transformation is fantastic and I’m sure the children, staff and local community will enjoy their new facility for many years.
The Operations and Commercial teams have been excellent throughout and have been very supportive and proactive in their approach. I would like to especially thank Project Manager John for his efforts over the last couple of weeks, which were difficult at times for reasons out with his control, but he pulled a lot of rabbits out of the hat and got us over the line. Yet again, thank you for all your efforts and hopefully I get the opportunity to work with you all again in the near future.
I would like to thank Martin McColl, Mark Smith and the team at akp for delivering the refurbishment at New Aspect House. Blantyre.
Started and completed during a global pandemic, its a project none of us will forget and it was not without it challenges.
I want to take the opportunity to thank the whole akp team.

Probably my favourite project to have worked on! A great professional team, highly knowledgeable and skilled and with a great sense of pride in what they do. I would highly recommend them.
Another successful project completed and thanks for everyone’s hard work. The setting are delighted with the end product.
School / WLC were extremely appreciative of how John and team carried out works, excellent lines of communication with school throughout. Also, the site housekeeping, co-ordination, health and safety were all excellent.
This is the second time we have used akp for a fit out project in Glasgow, and I would have no hesitation recommending them or using them again.
akp worked well on site and delivered the project as expected. I would have no concerns using your services on subsequent projects.
akp carried out the office fit out diligently and completed on time in what was a very tight timescale.
I cannot have asked for a more helpful and professional approach to the fit out. Programme completion date was forced by lease events and was not only met but at below budget.
