With experience of carrying out projects in activity zones akp were delighted to be involved in Fun Street, the first-ever global venture to come to Silverburn Shopping Centre in the south side of Glasgow.
Spanning across two levels, the interactive space is located next to Pure Gym and Cineworld, amongst Silverburn’s food and drinks arena, and is jam-packed full of activities for kids aged 0-12-year olds.
The project comprised of the fit out of Unit LE1 of Silverburn Shopping Centre. Unit LE1 was a vacant retail unit in shell condition, located at the shopping centres north west corner.
The unit was fitted out to form a new soft play centre incorporating a kitchen, café, creche, soft play area and toilet facilities at ground floor and party rooms and staff areas at a newly formed mezzanine level.
Overall the works include the installation of a new steel mezzanine level, fire escape stairs, access lift and associated structural works; partitioning to form new layouts; new cash desk, kitchen, café, toilets, soft play areas and party rooms; new glazed frontage and entrance doors; alterations to the existing and installation of new mechanical and electrical services and lastly, installation of floorcoverings, fixtures and fittings.

I want to take the opportunity to thank the akp team. The transformation is fantastic and I’m sure the children, staff and local community will enjoy their new facility for many years.
The Operations and Commercial teams have been excellent throughout and have been very supportive and proactive in their approach. I would like to especially thank Project Manager John for his efforts over the last couple of weeks, which were difficult at times for reasons out with his control, but he pulled a lot of rabbits out of the hat and got us over the line. Yet again, thank you for all your efforts and hopefully I get the opportunity to work with you all again in the near future.
I would like to thank Martin McColl, Mark Smith and the team at akp for delivering the refurbishment at New Aspect House. Blantyre.
Started and completed during a global pandemic, its a project none of us will forget and it was not without it challenges.
I want to take the opportunity to thank the whole akp team.

Probably my favourite project to have worked on! A great professional team, highly knowledgeable and skilled and with a great sense of pride in what they do. I would highly recommend them.
Another successful project completed and thanks for everyone’s hard work. The setting are delighted with the end product.
School / WLC were extremely appreciative of how John and team carried out works, excellent lines of communication with school throughout. Also, the site housekeeping, co-ordination, health and safety were all excellent.
This is the second time we have used akp for a fit out project in Glasgow, and I would have no hesitation recommending them or using them again.
akp worked well on site and delivered the project as expected. I would have no concerns using your services on subsequent projects.
akp carried out the office fit out diligently and completed on time in what was a very tight timescale.
I cannot have asked for a more helpful and professional approach to the fit out. Programme completion date was forced by lease events and was not only met but at below budget.
